S'pore beats Moscow to host 2010 Youth Olympics games
There were months of waiting and preparations, but it paid off in the end as Singapore has trumped Moscow to win the bid to host the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in 2010.
The International Olympic Committee announced this to the world from its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The two cities had been the only shortlisted contenders for the youth event, from an initial field of 11 bidders.
The Youth Games will have around 3,200 athletes, aged 14 to 18, competing in 26 sports.

Strange Tale of 2 Presidents
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head .
Now it gets really weird.
Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.
Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.
Now hang on to your seat.
Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford.'
Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
And here's the kicker...
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.
Creepy huh? Send this to as many people as you can, cause: Hey, this is one history lesson most people probably will not mind reading

Knight Rider Review
Knight Rider Review
The plot of the movie centers on a bunch of bad guys who are trying to steal some hard drives from Charles Graiman (Bruce Davison). Not only did Graiman create KITT, he’s also working with the government on some super-secret technology for the military. The bad guys need to get the encryption key for the hard drives and so after they believe Graiman has died; they attempt to get to his scientist-daughter, Sarah. KITT has been ordered to find Sarah and bring her to Mike, a former Army Ranger whom Graiman believes can protect his daughter.
Overall, the movie a bit lame, but if there is improvement, it could still be a mini hit.

Staten Island Chuck versus Punxsutawney Phil
New York's Staten Island Chuck appeared to make his annual Groundhog Day prediction and the news is that Chuck failed to see his shadow at the Staten Island Zoo, leaving his fans to believe spring is near. "Chuck is the most accurate predictor, that's why he's become so popular," said Zoo Director Jon Caltabiano. Schwartz says the groundhog has been right 23 out of 27 times. But Chuck's forecast is being disputed in Pennsylvania, where the nation's most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, also gave his prediction. Phil saw his shadow, a sign that winter has six long weeks to go. Last year, both groundhogs predicted a short winter.
So who will get it right this time ? Only time will tell.

Punxsutawney Phil
Punxsutawney Phil predicts winter ahead. Punxsutawney Phil was pulled out of his stump on Saturday and saw his shadow thus predicting six more weeks of winter, according to the Associated Press.
The members of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle, all dressed up in tuxedos, carried on the tradition on Saturday and pulled the groundhog out of its den thus giving the forecast for the next weeks. The members are local businessman in the Western Pennsylvania town who dress up to meet the tradition on February 2.
"As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me. Six more weeks of winter it will be!" said Phil, punxsutawneyphil.com informs.
After the ceremony a party preceded it where couples used the occasion to get engaged.
Every February 2 thousand of people come to town of Punxsutawney with a population of 6,100 people, situated at about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in order to celebrate the Groundhog Day.
The tradition comes from a German superstition which says that if a hibernating animal is pulled out of its burrow on February 2, which is also Candlemas known as the Purification of the Virgin, and doesn’t see its shadow due to cloudy weather, then it means that the winter will soon end and spring will come.
If the animal can see its shadow than it will return to its burrow and the winter will go on for another six weeks.
